This Sunday we celebrate Mission Sunday. The Pontifical Mission Societies invites everyone to experience World Mission Day by welcoming the theme chosen by Pope Francis for this year: “Go and invite everyone at the banquet”.

THE CRAFTY CREW

Holy Family Parish hosts these monthly meetings from 1:30-4:00pm in the Bishop Joyce Centre

at Our Lady of Victories, 106 Main South Rd in Sockburn.

This month’s meeting is Saturday 19th October. Come meet and work alongside crafters from other Christchurch parishes. Bring your handcraft project and a gold coin donation, as well as some cash for raffles. It’s a friendly social gathering with good conversation and time to enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit. “St Teresa and her teaching on prayer”

Join us for a special talk on St. Teresa of Avila and Her Teaching on Prayer, Wednesday, 23rd October, at 7pm, St Gregory’s Church. Presented by Sr. Lauren Butler, OCD (who made her First Profession of Vows as a Carmelite Extern Sister on October 15th). Sr. Lauren will share insights from St. Teresa’s profound spirituality, offering practical wisdom on deepening our own prayer lives.

ECUACTION 2024
EcuAction, a Canterbury based ecumenical group dedicated to critiquing society in light of the Gospel, is holding its annual forum on Thursday, 7th November, from 6-8pm at the Knox Centre, 28 Bealey Avenue, Chrisrchurch.

This year Dr Paul Dalziel (Professor of Economics, Lincoln University) and his wife Jane Higgins
(Strategic Advisor, Christchurch Methodist Mission) will talk on recent projects they have led where

ST TERESA’S CHURCH PLANT SALE

Labour Weekend at St Teresa’s Hall, Cnr Riccarton Rd & Puriri St, Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th October 2024. Our plants are well looked after & potted in quality seed raising mix or potting mix with slow release fertilizer.

All funds raised are used in our Parish for upkeep and maintenance of our grounds.
