CATHEDRAL PRECINCT OUTDOOR MASS

Please be advised the Mass planned for the precinct of our future Cathedral on Sunday 24th November 2024 has been postponed to 2025.

COMPANION MASS AT NAZARETH HOUSE CHAPEL - Tuesday 1st October

This Mass is an opportunity for children aged 10-18 to provide a service of companionship during their school holidays. Younger siblings are welcome to attend also as a family unit. Arriving at 9.30am, prior to the Mass beginning at 10am, each child will have the opportunity to accompany a resident of Nazareth House to Mass and share morning tea with them afterwards. This is also the Memorial of St Therese of the Child Jesus, who reminds us that we are all made to bring joy to the child Jesus. Please register your interest with Therese Fisher theresegp@gmail.com

WOMEN’S RETREAT

Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October 2024

“Freedom to Be Loved & to Love as Women” is the theme for the retreat. Starting at Genesis where our knots were tied up through Eve, we will journey with the Lord allowing Him to untie the lies of the enemy; concluding with Mary who shows us how to be loved and love freely as a woman.

DECONSECRATION OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY CHURCH, WAIAU

You are invited to a Hurunui Parish big group gathering to celebrate with Bishop Michael the deconsecration Mass of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary: 27 Leslie Street, Waiau at 10:30am 6th October. After the Mass there will be a shared meal, a chance to catch up with old friends and share some stories from the past- many of the former parishioners will be there for this. ALL WELCOME. GOLDEN CATHOLICS SOUTH CANTERBURY 

The Catholic Development Fund and Holy Family Parish are hosting Bishop Michael on Friday, 18 October at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Timaru. Bishop Michael will celebrate Mass at 11:00 am before sharing his journey to priesthood.

SILENT RETREAT OPPORTUNITY

Mon 30th Sept to Friday 4th October, 10am to 4pm. Come for one day or all five days. Retreat Leader: Fr Chris Skinner sm. Each day begins with guidance for silent reflective prayer and the afternoon finishes with the Eucharist. VACANCY - CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

The Diocese is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead a passionate and committed team and contribute to shaping the future of the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch. CHCH ANGLICAN NORTHWEST PARISH

The Anglican Northwest parish are looking for a part-time youth worker. This position is 10 hrs

per week and would be focused on planning and leading their Friday night youth programme run during the school term. Ongoing training, including safeguarding and health and safety will be provided. This is a fixed term position of one year, with extension possible subject to review.
