Dove is delighted to announce the launch of Dovecotes for Women NZ, a new initiative designed to support women in parish communities throughout New Zealand.

Dovecotes are small parish-based groups where women from all walks of life can come together in friendship, prayer, and faith. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, these groups offer a welcoming space for women to bond, encourage one another, and grow more deeply in their relationship with God. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd – Level 1 Part 1 Formation

The St Carlo Acutis Atrium will host Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 1 Part 1 Formation from 5–11 Oct. This week‑long training is ideal for anyone wishing to develop skills as a catechist, as well as parents seeking support in nurturing their child’s faith at home.

Billings Ovulation Method Natural Fertility Seminar

A Billings Ovulation Method Natural Fertility Seminar will be held in Christchurch on Fri ,9 - Sat, 10 Oct. This seminar will offer a comprehensive introduction to a natural and scientifically based fertility awareness method that assists couples in planning their families and supports women in understanding their reproductive health.

The seminar is suitable for couples, health professionals, educators, and anyone interested in learning more about fertility awareness. It is also an excellent opportunity for those interested in becoming accredited Billings Teachers, as demand for teaching services continues to grow across New Zealand.

Season of Creation: Prayer of the Faithful

The Season of Creation is a special time when Christians around the world unite in prayer and action to care for our common home. From 1 September (World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to 4 October (Feast of St Francis of Assisi), we are invited to renew our relationship with God, one another, and all of creation. Parishes are encouraged to include a Prayer of the Faithful in their Sunday Masses during this season. There are some here which could be used or adapted.

The Consolations of Philosophy: Boethius and the Recovery of the Examined Life

MISSION SUNDAY 100TH CELEBRATION

The Catholic Church around the world will mark the 100th Mission Sunday on 18 Oct. The day is set aside to pray for the Church’s mission and to support those who carry the Gospel to places where hope is fragile, where faith is young and where believers often face hardship or persecution. PARIHAKA DAY 2026

In the lead-up to Parihaka Day 2026, the Christchurch Parihaka Network (NMKŌ) will run a talk to explore the historical events of 5 Nov 1881. The Crown invasion of the peaceful Taranaki village of Parihaka is an especially poignant event amongst the large-scale losses incurred by Māori during the New Zealand Wars. The invasion culminated in the arrest of its Christian leaders’, Te Whiti-o-Rongomai and Tohu Kākahi, who led their 2000-strong community in philosophy of peace and reconciliation through non-violence.

John Pridmore is coming to Christ the Redeemer parish for a Parish mission in September.

Once involved in London’s criminal underworld, John’s life was dramatically transformed through an encounter with Jesus Christ.

For more than 30 years he has travelled the world sharing his powerful story of conversion, hope and God’s mercy, inspiring thousands to rediscover their faith. Each evening will include John’s testimony, prayer and an opportunity to deepen your relationship with Christ.

Housing Election Forum- Livestream

Join this livestream to hear Church and community voices on the housing issues facing Aotearoa New Zealand. A panel of political party representatives will be responding to questions about homelessness, social and affordable housing, and the development of a long-term national housing plan. The forum will be co-hosted by Archbishop Paul Martin and Anglican Archbishop Justin Duckworth. Caritas is co-sponsoring the event.
