Since 1967 the CDF has supported communities within the Diocese of Christchurch. Its annual distribution has enabled thousands of children and their families to access new school infrastructure, counselling support, a sacramental music programme, and, via the efforts of the Catholic Youth Team, a deeper connection with Jesus Christ.
Those in hospital and prison, are nurtured via Diocesan’s Chaplaincy Service, while our priests in training are educated at the national seminary. At attractive rates, loans to schools, parishes, and catholic organisations enable community projects to take place, enriching community.
Fifty-five years on, the CDF continues to offer one of the most stable and values-driven investment options available.
CDF members choose from a range of interest-earning investment and savings products to suit their saving and lifestyle needs.
With no shareholders to satisfy, any surplus generated is made available for the Bishop of Christchurch to use in helping those in education or need of care and support.
Upon request, Catholic schools, parishes, and organisations may apply to borrow from the CDF to help carry out their own projects’ needs.
The CDF offers a socially responsible investment option with an investment policy aligned with Catholic values. It remains a practical way to save while investing in the good of community.
