Volunteering either in your parish or with one of the agencies of our Diocese is a rewarding experience. There are plenty of opportunities to find something that resonates most with you.
"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
Mother Teresa
Donating to your Parish and to any of the worthy agencies of the Diocese is appreciated and welcome. You can choose to support an area of Diocesan ministry that is important to you and your family.
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Gifting to the Diocese in your will provides an opportunity to leave a meaningful legacy for generations to come. Gifts can always be directed to those causes closest to your heart.
“I am inspired to give to the Church because of the history of our families here in Akaroa. My grandchildren are the seventh generation to be part of this parish. I give to honour those who came before us, and to demonstrate our willingness to give to those still to come.”
Ged Foley, Akaroa Parish
Since 1967 the CDF has offered a stable and values-driven investment option. Interest is paid, no account fees are charged, and one’s savings are 100% guaranteed by the Bishop of Christchurch. An annual distribution enables the support of local communities. Loans at attractive rates to schools, parishes, and catholic organisations enable their own projects.
