ST CARLO ACUTIS RELIC TOUR

Opening Mass to welcome the relic of St Carlo Acutis
All are welcome to Mass at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on Wed, Jun 17 at 5.30pm celebrated by Bishop Michael. The relic of St Carlo Acutis, one of the Church’s newest, and youngest saints, will be received. There will be a chance to venerate the relic immediately after Mass. The Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition will also be on display in the Narthex. All are invited to an evening at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on Fri, Jun 20 at 7pm in honour of St Carlo Acutis. During the evening there will be music, adoration, confessions, a talk from Msgr Anthony Figueiredo, worldwide curator of the relic, and a chance to venerate the relic. The Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition will also be on display in the Narthex. Come and be inspired by St Carlo Acutis, a young man whose life radiated the love of Christ in the modern world. Diocesan Eucharistic Procession and Holy Hour – Sunday June 7th

Bishop Michael invites all to the annual Diocesan Eucharistic Procession and Holy Hour on the feast of Corpus Christi – Sun, Jun 7. This year it is being held at the Holy Family Parish at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sockburn, and Msgr Rick Loughnan will be the celebrant. This solemnity marks the ‘solemn commemoration of the institution of the Eucharist’ – the source and summit of the Catholic Faith. Beginning at 2.30pm, the celebration will include adoration, a procession around the streets, prayers and music. All groups welcome to attend with banners.

MASS OF CONSECRATION OF VIRGINS – KATRINA DE ROO AND JEANETTE HANCOCK

On Saturday, June 13, at 11.00am at St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Bishop Michael will celebrate the Mass of Consecration of Virgins to consecrate Katrina de Roo and Jeanette Hancock as brides of Christ. Katrina and Jeanette are parishioners of St Peter Chanel, Waimakariri and Holy Family, Christchurch West, respectively. All are warmly invited to this special occasion. Rebuild My Church – Formation Series with Dr Mary Healy

COME AND LISTEN SERIES

Starting on Monday the 8th of June at 7:00 pm, Fr Moises, David & Fiona, and Paolo, a missionary team of the Neocatechumenal Way will be running a series of catechesis in St Anne's Parish Hall.

The Neocatechumenal Way is a charism within the Catholic Church dedicated to Christian formation, as Pope St. John Paul II said: “[…] I recognize the Neocatechumenal Way as an effective means of Catholic formation for society and for the present time […] (Letter of John Paul II Ogni Qualvolta: From the Vatican, 30 August 1990, the 12th year of my Pontificate).” Taking its inspiration from the catechumenate of the early Church, by which converts were prepared for baptism, this catechesis come, above all, to announce the love of God to those listening.

It is the first time this catechesis, and the richness of this experience, are offered in New Zealand.

We invite you to come and listen on Mondays and Thursdays 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm Starting on Monday the 8th of June at St Anne’s Parish Hall, 739 Ferry Rd, Woolston.
