Anglicans and Catholics Journey North (ARCCANZ)

ARCCANZ is the Anglican Roman Catholic Commission of Aotearoa New Zealand. In October, we visited Northland and sites of Christian significance for the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. These included Totara Point, where the first Mass on land was celebrated in New Zealand. We celebrated Mass at St Mary's Motuti, where Bishop Pompallier's body is interred. We also visited Rangihoua, the site of New Zealand's first Christian mission station, set up by Bishop Samuel Marsden.

Mike Stopforth, one of the participants said “this hikoi was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our Anglican brothers and sisters as well as visit the significant places of the foundations of our faith here in New Zealand”
