Christchurch East Celebrates its Ethnic Diversity and Unity in Christ

On 3 September, Catholic Cathedral College provided the venue for a great parish celebration. The faithful of our Mass centres in the Christchurch East Parish came together as one family. The day celebrated the richness of our ethnic diversity and gave us the opportunity to promote, deepen, and strengthen parish unity.

In our eucharistic celebration we thanked God for the many blessings he continues to bestow on the parish and its members. Our parish priest, Fr Job Thyikalamuriyil, presided at Mass, and was joined at the altar by four priests. Parishioners were in good attendance, and the Mass was spiced with good liturgical songs in English and other languages. The prayer of the faithful was offered in several languages, manifesting the multicultural nature of the parish.

Assorted food from our various nationalities was shared by all to the satisfaction of everyone, and we were entertained by an array of cultural items. It was definitely a day well celebrated.
