LIVING THE COMMITMENT: A CATHOLIC DISCIPLESHIP JOURNEY

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Join Bishop Michael Gielen at the Community of the Beatitudes to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the Sanctuary of Fourviere 67 Leithfield Road, Leithfield, North Canterbury. The evening starts with Mass under the sky at 6.00pm, picnic dinner and sausage sizzle, followed by a procession at dusk, and adoration under the stars. SEASONS FOR GROWTH

Seasons for Growth is a small group education programme learning skills to adapt positively to a significant change, loss or grief in your life.

Please consider the programme if you are struggling with a significant change e.g bereavement, divorce, separation, retirement, moving countries, towns or cities, illness etc.

ST BRIGID’S LOBURN ANNIVERSARY

150 years of St Brigid’s Church in Loburn will be celebrated this year. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Michael Gielen on Sun, Nov 9 at 2.00pm. St Brigid’s is the 4th oldest church in the diocese and one of the very few with an active cemetery. Mass will be celebrated in a large marquee and everyone is invited, especially those with a family connection to St Brigid’s.

To follow there will be a blessing of the cemetery by Bishop Michael and afternoon tea will be served. An updated version of Michael Hanrahan’s history of St Brigid’s will be available for sale at $20.

A final Miha Māori at the Te Rangimārie Centre, 360 Gloucester Street, Linwood will be celebrated by Bishop Michael on Sun, Nov 30 at 11:00 am followed by a shared lunch. All welcome. Sunday Mass in Te Reo Māori will then be celebrated weekly at St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral beginning Sun, Dec 7. More details to follow.
